Poppy

New Zealand Film Commision (2009)

Directed by James Cunningham (director of Infection), this award-winning motion-capture animation is based on the true story of my great-grandfather who found a baby in the trenches of World War I. Poppy earned me a nomination for Best Short Screenplay at the 2009 New Zealand film and television awards.

Where Dad Walked

Aurora Artists and Index Films (2011)

I wrote and directed this short film with funding from friends and family. It opened for Tyrannosaur at the New Zealand International Film Festival 2011.

A hungover father (Matthew Sunderland) takes his son into the city the morning after a drunken episode to retrace his steps and see if he can find something he lost. What he ends up finding is far more important.
